Oyster Farm and Complimentary Tasting Sea Kayak Tour

Join Master Maine Guide Alice starting early morning to avoid the winds on Mere Point Bay. While we’re paddling in solo and tandem sea kayaks, you’ll learn about aquaculture in Maine – fishing, clamming, scallop and oyster farming. You’ll learn about the area’s natural and human history. We’ll be visiting an oyster farm and then land on an island where you’ll learn to shuck oysters and then taste your success. This tour is beginner and family friendly. Sea kayaks, life jackets, and paddles are provided. You provide water and snacks. We meet at 8:15am and return about noon.

Join author David Spahr for an indoor presentation and discussion of Chaga Mushrooms. This class will detail all aspects of chaga (Inonotus Obliquus) including where to find them, how to use, and current science. Many aspects are shown, including those most have never seen. David has collected edible and medicinal mushrooms for 50 years. He is a member of the Maine Mycological Association and the North American Mycological Association.

This hands-on class requires you to evaluate a situation and apply the correct first aid for sprains, fractures, open chest wounds, hyperthermia, hypothermia, severe bleeding, stroke, allergic reactions, and more. Bring your first aid kit and learn what else you may need to add to it. $35 textbook included. Two sessions.
