Life Design is a method of applying the innovative approaches of design thinking to solving problems in our lives. For many of us, finding or maintaining a sense of balance with our life priorities and/or managing our energy can be a challenge. Join this session to consider a design approach to enhancing balance and energy. The session will include time to pause and reflect on your priorities for a balanced life and the fluctuations in your energy during your week.  You will then learn how to apply design strategies to make small, incremental changes to your daily life for greater alignment with your balance priorities and for more energy – all in service of enhancing your enjoyment and well-being.

Games are increasingly recognized as a tool that can serve many business purposes beyond entertainment. This certificate provides you with a general introduction to what goes into the design and development of both video and analog games, with a particular focus on the use of games outside of consumer entertainment. In the introductory course, you will discover resources for developing game design, identify the mechanics and verbs used in different games. You will come away with knowing the different activities that are part of game design, being able to flesh out a game idea in order to increase the chances to having a successful game design experience, and have a basic understanding of how to work with game developers. In the intermediate course, you will you will learn the basics of video game design process, learn about the main video game genres, and use a game development application to begin your journey of making games.

Imaginarium Youth Creator Camp is a Storytelling, Art, And Acting Experience where campers work together as a group in the co-creation of a film project combining drawing, painting, performing, writing, and costume design with live-action acting performances on green screen. Campers focus-in on their own specific interests, whether it’s illustrating and animating creatures and sets for the movie, writing and developing the plot, or rehearsing and acting to become living characters within the film! Led by professional artists and actors Elise Voigt and Andrew Elijah Edwards, experience a revolutionary creative intensive for eight days over two weeks that teaches the process of creating a finished project from conception to completion, practices the art of collaboration, dives deep into our imaginal potential. Ages 9-13 welcome. All other ages will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This class will cover the basics of house construction, air and heat movement through the house, and how you can easily stop some of the leaks that take 20 to 40% of the heat out of many homes. The value of an energy audit includes how your house heating system is functioning, what are the low hanging fruit you can gather to reduce heat loss, and where are the funds available to do this. Some of these steps you can take yourself to make cold weather clear window inserts,  weather-strip your doors, or close unused vents. Efficiency Maine grants for low income people pay up to $9600 per household for insulation, or up to $3500 for higher income. 7 Rivers Habitat for Humanity partners with Harpswell to repair and keep lower income people in their homes as they age. 7 Rivers H4H also does safety repairs and weatherization in all of Lincoln, Sagadahoc Counties. Your energy audit costs will be paid by Efficiency Maine if you make one of the repairs recommended by the energy auditor.  We encourage you to ask questions you have about improving your home environment and use a resource list for services and more information.
