Take a step back to the Gilded Age of the 20th century and enjoy the holiday season with a visit to Newport, Rhode Island. We will visit three decorated mansions and enjoy this seaside town’s festivities. Following lunch at Wright’s Farm, arrive in Newport to visit the Vanderbilt’s opulent Marble House. Early evening takes us to the elegantly decorated Breakers. Live music and refreshments will be the back-drop as guests enjoy the yuletide splendor of this 70-room mansion. Overnight accommodations are at the Hampton Inn and Suites in nearby Middletown. Sunday includes a tour of The Elms, all decked out with period ornaments. Lunch is served at the Viking Hotel accompanied by a Victorian Christmas Murder Mystery. On our way home, we will visit the Sandwich Glass Museum where they are celebrating the 10th annual Glassblower’s Christmas. Hundreds of unique glass ornaments, made by the region’s finest local and national glass artists, will adorn Christmas trees in the Contemporary Gallery. We’ll end the day with a 4-course dinner at the Hearth and Kettle in Weymouth.
