This class is for those who love color, want to engage with color, and have a color experience by playfully moving color shapes around. We will paint pieces of paper using red, yellow, and blue gouache and all the colors which can be mixed from our primary colors. This will give you some basic color mixing skills. We will then cut these colored pieces of paper into shapes inspired by objects and inspirations around us - simple, fun combinations of objects. As shapes and colors are cut and moved closer together or further apart, you will see how the space around the objects is vital in creating a pleasing and dynamic composition. Composition, sensitivity to shape, ideas about color and space will be discussed, as we channel our inner Matisse! No class Nov. 11.
